Effective as of 05-20-2025

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of this website and the services provided by the BookStory Publishing. By accessing the website or purchasing services, you agree to be bound by the following terms. These terms are designed to ensure clarity, fairness, and transparency in all business interactions.

1. Scope of Services

The Company provides professional self-publishing support services for authors, including manuscript formatting, book cover design, interior layout, publishing platform setup, and related consulting. These services are intended to assist authors in preparing and submitting their books for self-publishing through third-party platforms such as Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP), Barnes & Noble Press, and others. The Company is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a partner of any of these publishing platforms and cannot influence their listing or approval processes. No guarantees are made regarding book sales, rankings, platform visibility, or bestseller status.

2. Client Obligations

Clients agree to provide accurate, complete, and timely information necessary for the performance of services. This includes, but is not limited to, manuscripts, images, titles, author names, and other content or data required to complete the publishing process. Clients are responsible for ensuring their content complies with applicable laws and third-party publishing guidelines. Any delay in providing the requested materials may impact delivery timelines and project progression.

3. Payment Terms

All fees for services are clearly communicated before work begins and are due in advance. Once any consultation, design work, or publishing-related service has commenced, the project is considered active and ineligible for refund, but the client is subject to refund & reimbursement upon review of the case.

4. Revisions and Satisfaction Guarantee

Clients are entitled to unlimited revisions within the original scope of the service package until they are fully satisfied. Revisions are intended to fine-tune the work and do not include a full rework or shift in creative direction after the design or content has been approved. Requests that fall outside the original agreement may be subject to additional fees. The revision policy applies within a reasonable time frame and does not cover ongoing updates beyond the service term.

5. Delivery Timelines

Timelines for project completion are estimated based on standard workloads and client responsiveness. While every effort is made to deliver services promptly, delays may occur due to complex project needs, lack of communication, or platform submission issues. The Company is not responsible for delays resulting from third-party platforms, system downtimes, or client inaction.

6. Refunds and Dispute Resolution

We are committed to ensuring your satisfaction and encourage open communication to address any concerns. While refunds are not guaranteed, they may be considered in exceptional cases—particularly if no meaningful work has been performed. Each situation will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis with a focus on fairness and transparency.

If you're ever unhappy with any aspect of the service, please contact us directly. We’re here to help and will do our best to find a reasonable and mutually agreeable solution.

Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute without first giving us the opportunity to resolve the issue is considered a breach of these Terms. In such cases, the Company may:

  • Suspend or terminate current and future service delivery

  • Revoke the client’s right to use any delivered materials or files

  • Pursue legal action or debt collection where appropriate

Clients who reverse payments or file disputes agree not to use any part of the materials, designs, or formatted files delivered as part of the service..

7. Ownership and Intellectual Property

All intellectual property created during the engagement, including cover designs, formatted manuscripts, and related content, becomes the property of the client upon full payment. The client retains full ownership of their manuscript and submitted materials at all times. The Company retains no claim over client books, rights, or royalties. However, the Company may, with client permission, display completed work in its portfolio unless confidentiality is requested in writing.

8. Limitations of Liability

Services are provided on an “as-is” basis. The Company is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of its services, including lost earnings, publishing delays, or third-party platform actions. Liability for any claim will be limited to the amount paid by the client for the service in question.

9. Platform Compliance

While we strive to ensure that all submitted files meet the technical and content standards required by publishing platforms, final acceptance is at the sole discretion of those platforms. The Company is not responsible for rejections, removals, or account actions taken by Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or any other third-party entity. Clients are encouraged to familiarize themselves with each platform’s terms of use and publishing guidelines.

10. Legal Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the state or jurisdiction where the Company is registered. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

11. Updates to Terms

These Terms and Conditions may be updated periodically without prior notice. Clients are encouraged to review them regularly. Continued use of the website and services after updates constitutes agreement to the revised terms.
